Job summary

Bitfinex is seeking a Transaction Monitoring Investigator to safeguard platform integrity by detecting and mitigating financial crime risks across fiat and crypto transactions. You will analyze alerts, investigate suspicious activity, and coordinate with AML Investigators, Product teams, and Compliance leadership to ensure timely escalation and robust controls.

The role requires strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and deep interest in cryptocurrency and evolving AML/KYC regulations

Qualifications

• Experience in the compliance field within the industry.
• Familiarity with AML/KYC/CTF policies, sanctions, and due diligence.
• Ability to understand blockchain technology and transaction monitoring concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and monitor transaction monitoring rules to detect AML/TF and sanctions risks.
• Investigate alerts from fiat and crypto trades, deposits and withdrawals, escalating high-risk cases.
• Prepare periodic reports highlighting ML/TF anomalies for leadership and product teams.
• Collaborate with AML Investigators, Product teams, and Compliance leadership to improve controls.
• Continuously learn about virtual currencies, KYC/AML/CTF standards, and policy updates.
• Ensure KYC/AML/CTF and sanctions processes are followed and coordinated across teams.
• Assist in refining monitoring policies and risk parameters to align with the platform's risk appetite.
