Job summary

Political Asylum Lawyers seeks an Accounting & Finance Manager to lead financial operations, reporting, and controls. The role covers billing, trust accounting, cash flow forecasting, and budgeting in a hands-on capacity.

You will manage A/R, A/P, payroll and financial controls, collaborating with leadership to support pricing decisions and strategic planning. Experience in a law firm or professional services is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance experience, preferably in a law firm, professional services firm, or other service-based business.
• Strong understanding of general accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, A/R, A/P, payroll, and month-end close.
• Experience managing or reviewing trust/IOLTA accounting and reconciliations.
• Experience with billing systems, client payment plans, collections, and accounts receivable management.

Responsibilities

• Perform and manage day-to-day financial operations, documenting procedures for accuracy and timeliness.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and key reports; analyze supporting records and assumptions.
• Oversee billing, collections, A/R, A/P, payroll, trust accounting, and general ledger maintenance.
• Maintain clean, current financial records and ensure compliance with legal and ethical requirements.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow planning, and financial decision support.
