Sokoni Kwetu Limited is a remote-first data products and ML startup seeking an Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team. You will handle invoices, expense processing, monthly close, and reconciliations, contributing to accurate financial reporting and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
• Hands-on experience processing purchase invoices and expense records.
• Experience preparing accounting accruals and provisions.
• Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Understanding of the monthly closing process.
• Knowledge of tax concepts and regulatory compliance (VAT, withholdings, tax documentation, etc.).
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Ability to communicate in English

Responsabilités

• Record and process purchase invoices and expense documentation.
• Track, organize, and maintain supporting accounting documentation.
• Prepare monthly accounting provisions and accruals.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Prepare monthly expense reports and analyze spending variances.
• Monitor and follow up on pending invoices and supporting documents.
• Support the monthly accounting close process.
• Assist with tax controls and provide documentation required by external accountants.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
• Coordinate and track tasks using collaboration tools such as Slack and ClickUp.
• Support continuous improvements in accounting and administrative processes.
