Job summary

CookUnity is seeking a Sr. Accounting Analyst to own prepaid expense reconciliations, lease accounting, and expense analysis across software, insurance, utilities, and general operating expenses. This role supports the monthly close with accurate journal entries and reconciliations, partnering with cross-functional teams.

The position reports to the Sr. Accounting Manager and is a full-time, remote role from Argentina, offering USD compensation and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years of relevant accounting or audit experience.
• Advanced English skills, with clear written and verbal communication.
• Experience with month-end close, journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience preparing prepaid expense reconciliations and amortization schedules.
• Strong understanding of expense recognition (rent, utilities, etc.).
• Experience in account variance analysis and explaining drivers.
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Ability to manage responsibilities independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Own the monthly close for assigned accounts, including journal entries and adjustments.
• Maintain clear account reconciliations for assigned area.
• Maintain lease accounting under ASC 842, including leases and related schedules.
• Review lease agreements and coordinate treatment with Accounting Manager.
• Classify and record rent, utilities, and occupancy-related expenses.
• Own prepaid expense reconciliations and amortization schedules.
• Perform monthly variance analysis for multiple expense categories.
• Review invoices and contracts to identify accruals and timing differences.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve outstanding items.
• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, FP&A, Legal, and Operations for accurate recognition.
• Maintain process documentation and internal controls; support audits.
• Support process improvements and automation initiatives.
