Job summary

Muttdata, a remote-first data analytics startup, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join the Finance team. You will handle accounting operations, including invoice processing, expense registration, and monthly closings, while contributing to accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Record and process purchase invoices and expense documentation.
• Prepare monthly accounting provisions and accruals.
• Perform bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Support the monthly accounting close and tax controls.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and VAT/compliance.
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Able to communicate in English.

Responsibilities

In this role, you'll be involved in accounting operations, including expense and invoice registration, monthly reports, accounting provisions, reconciliations, and monthly closing processes.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting and financial records.
• Coordinate and track tasks using collaboration tools such as Slack and ClickUp.
• Support continuous improvements in accounting and administrative processes.

Required Skills

• 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance-related roles.
• Hands-on experience processing purchase invoices and expense records.
• Experience preparing accounting accruals and provisions.
• Experience performing bank and credit card reconciliations.
• Understanding of the monthly closing process.
• Knowledge of and experience with tax concepts and regulatory compliance (VAT, withholdings, tax documentation, etc.).
• Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
• Ability to communicate in English

Nice to have

• Experience working in startups or technology companies.
• Experience using ERP systems such as Odoo, SAP Business One, Tango, Bejerman, Xubio, NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar.
• Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Slack, ClickUp, Asana, or Jira.
