EPAM Systems is seeking a Lead Python Developer to join our team in Argentina. You will own backend services across a cloud-native stack, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive quality through design, testing, and reviews.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of relevant experience, 1+ year in leadership, and strong Python, FastAPI, and Azure DevOps skills, with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments.

Formación

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
• At least 1 year of experience leading development teams.
• Strong understanding of SOLID and clean architecture.
• Proven track record building cloud-based, microservice-oriented backends.
• Proficient in Python backend with FastAPI and Asyncio; Poetry for dependency management.
• Experience with Angular front-ends and modern tooling (RxJS, NgRx, Nx).
• Experience with Node.js and cloud platforms, especially Azure.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Excellent communication and English proficiency (B2+).

Responsibilities

• Design and construct backend services that meet defined performance, scalability, and reliability benchmarks
• Contribute to architectural discussions that shape the future direction of our systems
• Partner with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into workable technical solutions
• Write clean, maintainable, and rigorously tested code across the services you create
• Conduct code reviews for teammates to help maintain consistent quality and standards
• Diagnose and resolve intricate issues that affect application performance and stability
• Contribute to the successful deployment and ongoing operational health of cloud-based applications
• Support continuous improvement of engineering practices, tooling, and workflows
• Engage in planning sessions to define scope and estimate effort for upcoming initiatives
• Offer mentorship and guidance to fellow engineers throughout the development lifecycle

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
• At least one year of experience leading and managing development teams
• Strong understanding of software development principles, including SOLID and clean architecture
• Proven track record building cloud-based, microservice-oriented backend services
• Solid Python backend experience, including core Python, dependency management with Poetry, the FastAPI framework, and async programming with Asyncio
• Experience designing and developing Angular single-page web applications
• Experience with RxJS, NgRx, and Nx
• Experience working with Node.js
• Cloud experience with Azure
• Experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD
• Excellent communication skills
• Understanding of scalability, performance, and reliability across distributed systems
• Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications
• Proficiency with Docker
• Knowledge of cloud fundamentals, preferably Azure, with AWS regarded as a plus
• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, with GitOps or ArgoCD regarded as a plus
• Experience with Go (Golang) regarded as a plus
• Good communication skills
• Excellent English proficiency (B2 level or higher)
