Job summary

Belong in Buenos Aires seeks an experienced Lead Accountant to own the month‑end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and reporting. You will lead a lean team, drive automation in postings, and partner with our Finance Data Engineer to speed up the close while maintaining audit readiness.

You will set accounting standards, oversee an external audit, and ensure accurate, timely books in a fast‑growing, AI‑first property tech company.

Qualifications

5–9 years full‑cycle accounting with close ownership.
Experience in venture-backed startup or fast‑growth env.
Strong US GAAP, accrual accounting, and financial statement prep.
Experience supporting external audits and budgets.
Proficiency with NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage or similar.

Responsibilities

Lead automation-enabled close and coordinate with payroll, payables, receivables, and automated workflows.
Own balance sheet reconciliations and complex journal entries.
Prepare monthly financial statements and budget‑versus‑actual reporting.
Lead the external audit process and auditor inquiries.
Set accounting standards and policies; ensure audit readiness year‑round.
Partner with Finance Data Engineer to improve posting and reconciliation workflows.
