You’ll collaborate with leadership to create spaces that photograph beautifully, balance luxury with practicality, and stand out in competitive rental markets.

You will develop concepts, mood boards, floor plans, 2D renderings, and complete design packages using professional tools.

Formación

• 3+ years of professional interior design experience.
• Portfolio showcasing creativity and spatial planning is required.
• Experience designing short-term rentals, hospitality spaces, or vacation properties is highly preferred.
• Ability to develop original design concepts with minimal direction.

A fast-growing U.S.-based interior design firm specializing in high-end short-term rental properties is seeking a Virtual Interior Designer to join its creative team.

This role is ideal for a designer who thrives on creating unforgettable spaces that are both visually striking and highly functional. You'll collaborate directly with the company's leadership to develop interiors that photograph beautifully, stand out in competitive rental markets, and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

What You'll Do

Creative Interior Design

• Design visually compelling interiors for short-term rental properties that elevate guest experiences and maximize market appeal.

• Create memorable, photography-driven spaces that balance luxury aesthetics with everyday functionality.

• Develop original design concepts that avoid cookie-cutter solutions and bring each property its own distinct identity.

• Adapt designs to reflect regional styles, guest demographics, and individual property goals while maintaining a consistently elevated aesthetic.

Design Development & Execution

• Produce complete design packages including:

  • Mood boards

  • Concept presentations

  • Pinterest inspiration boards

  • Floor plans

  • 2D renderings

• Execute complete room layouts and design plans using professional interior design software.

• Work from architectural plans, Matterport scans, and existing layouts to create cohesive designs across entire properties.

Creative Innovation

• Bring fresh ideas and original creative direction to every project.

• Think independently while contributing to a collaborative creative environment.

• Develop cohesive design stories across multiple rooms while ensuring every space has its own unique personality.

Collaboration

• Partner closely with leadership throughout the design process.

• Balance creative vision with the operational needs of short-term rental properties.

• Incorporate feedback while maintaining strong design integrity and attention to detail.

What We're Looking For

Experience

• 3+ years of professional interior design experience.

• Previous experience designing short-term rentals, hospitality spaces, boutique hotels, or vacation properties is highly preferred.

Exceptional Design Eye

You have a natural instinct for creating bold, sophisticated interiors and are comfortable working with:

• Rich and dramatic color palettes

• High-contrast styling

• Layered textures

• Statement furniture and décor

• Elevated, luxury-inspired aesthetics

Portfolio Required

A strong portfolio showcasing your creativity, spatial planning, and visual storytelling is required. Applications without a portfolio will not be considered.

Creative Independence

• Comfortable developing original concepts with minimal direction.

• Able to solve design challenges creatively while maintaining a consistent design vision.

Technical Skills

Experience using professional interior design tools such as:

• DesignFiles (or similar platforms)

• Rendering software

• Floor planning software

• Visual presentation and mood board tools

Industry Knowledge

• Understanding of what makes short-term rental properties successful.

• Familiarity with guest flow, functional layouts, and designing spaces that perform well in listing photography.
