Job summary

Félix is building a financial ecosystem for Latin immigrants in the U.S. Our Fraud Prevention Specialist will own the analytical layer, turning raw fraud signals into actionable decisions and containment rules.

You will work between investigators, Fraud Strategy, and Data to prevent attacks in production, balancing security with customer experience. We expect deep SQL expertise, a track record of fraud pattern detection in fintech/payments, and the ability to translate findings for both

Qualifications

• High proficiency in SQL with complex schemas and time pressure.
• Proven experience identifying fraud patterns in Fintech/Payments/ Remittances.
• Understanding of fraud controls: rules, thresholds, precision/recall, cost of false positives.
• Translate data findings into actionable language for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Connect disparate data points to uncover fraud and systemic gaps.
• Self-starter with bias for action and ownership of work.
• Experience tuning production fraud rules in real-time decisions.
• Familiarity with risk platforms, vendor signals, and chargeback lifecycles.
• Exposure to ML-assisted fraud scoring and governance processes.
• Knowledge of AI tools to enhance Fraud Investigative work.
• Equivalent competencies across above will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Run proactive analysis to identify new fraud patterns and emerging threats.
• Build and maintain complex SQL queries to expose fraud rings and account-takeover behavior.
• Monitor core fraud metrics to detect anomalies and speed up detection.
• Cross-link data points across products and channels to identify vulnerabilities.
• Design and validate detection rules with impact on user experience.
• Deploy containment rules during active attacks and adjust thresholds in real time.
• Retire or tune decaying or over-triggering rules to reduce friction.
• Document rule intent, logic, and expected impact for auditable decisions.
• Collaborate with Fraud Strategy, Data, ML, Product and Ops on roadmap priorities.
