Félix is building a fintech platform that enables Latin immigrant communities to remit money with speed and security. We seek a Lead Data Scientist for Fraud to spearhead ML models that detect and prevent fraud in real time, protecting millions in transfers.

You will lead technical direction, collaborate across teams, and oversee production deployment and monitoring in a cloud environment, while communicating results to non-technical stakeholders.

Formación

• 5+ years of experience in a hands-on data science role, building and deploying ML models.
• Leadership experience in guiding complex data science projects from inception to production.
• Expert-level Python for data analysis and modeling (pandas, scikit-learn, etc.).
• Advanced SQL skills for complex data extraction and manipulation.
• Deep experience with tree-based ML models (XGBoost, CatBoost, LightGBM) and statistical models.
• Strong understanding of model explainability frameworks (SHAP, LIME) and fairness considerations.
• Solid understanding of sampling techniques for imbalanced datasets.
• Practical experience with clustering and outlier detection (K-Means, KNN, Isolation Forest).
• Proven experience with full modeling lifecycle in a cloud env (GCP/AWS/Azure).
• Strong statistics background and experience with A/B testing.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Define the long-term ML strategy for the fraud team and mentor junior data scientists.
• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle of fraud detection models.
• Design and develop models targeting lending fraud typologies.
• Conduct deep-dive analyses of fraud patterns using unsupervised methods.
• Design and run A/B tests to measure model impact on performance and UX.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Risk, Operations to translate needs into DS solutions.
• Deploy, monitor, and maintain ML models in the cloud with high availability.
• Create dashboards to track KPIs like fraud loss rates and detection performance.
