South32 is seeking a Geology Field Logistics Technician for the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona. You will support geology and technical services activities, ensuring safety and quality control while handling samples from collection to disposal.

Responsibilities include field safety leadership, hazard identification, equipment coordination, and collaboration with vendors and supervisors to keep field operations running smoothly in a seven-day rotating schedule.

• Must have valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicle.
• Minimum of one year of experience in a similar environment.
• English language written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating day-shift schedule providing seven-day coverage.
• Demonstrated safety awareness and field safety leadership.

• Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
• Interacts with vendors for the delivery of equipment and materials and collection of geological samples for processing.
• Field activities in support of the broader Hermosa Project as required.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Geology Field Logistics Technician performs work in support of Hermosa Geology (Project, Exploration, Planning) and Technical Services activities while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards at the project site. This position is based at the Hermosa Project site near Patagonia, Arizona.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:

• Ensures and maintains safe practices in alignment with South32 Hermosa standards and core values.
• Drive zero harm workplace through visible felt leadership, stop work authority, and other safety programs in place.
• Upholds safety and environmental standards and compliance.
• Field engagement/interactions, hazard identification (safety and environmental) and mitigation with reporting through G360
• Performs work in support of the collection, processing, storage, shipping, cataloguing and disposal of geological samples, ensuring consistency and quality control.
• Participates in mandatory and necessary training as required.
• Participates in regular one-on-one review meetings with supervisor(s)
• Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
• Interacts with vendors for the delivery of equipment and materials and collection of geological samples for processing.
• Field activities in support of the broader Hermosa Project as required.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must have valid driver’s license and able to drive company car/work vehicle.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a similar working environment.
• English language written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work rotating day-shift schedule providing seven-day coverage.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain safety awareness, and visible field safety leadership.

• Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, set priorities, and work with a myriad of personalities and diverse work cultures.
