South32 is seeking an Underground Mine Geologist for the Hermosa Project near Patagonia, Arizona. The role focuses on collecting, validating, and interpreting high-quality geological data to inform stope design and orebody delineation.

You will implement best practices for underground geology, contribute to drilling programs, and support cross-functional integration within Technical Services. The position requires a geology degree, 0–3 years of mining experience, and proficiency in mapping and

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or related field.
• 0 to 3 years mining experience preferred.
• Experience with logging diamond drill core preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with Leapfrog, Deswik, Vulcan, and AcQuire software preferred.
• Excellent safety record.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and implement best practices for underground geology functions.
• Conduct underground mapping, sampling, and material routing.
• Provide QA/QC support for underground drilling activities from design through core logging.
• Contribute to orebody delineation to inform and optimize stope design.
• Maintain safe practices in alignment with South32 Hermosa standards and core values.
• Attend relevant operational meetings to ensure seamless integration of geology within the mining cycle.
