JPMorganChase is seeking a proactive SRE-focused engineer to design, build and maintain software and automation for our AWS database fleet. You will write production-grade Python and Java, own SLOs and error budgets, and drive reliability across RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB.

You will implement monitoring and diagnostics, collaborate with product engineering, and lead resolution of complex database issues, contributing to a resilient, self-healing platform at scale.

Formación

• Hands-on experience with AWS managed database services such as RDS, Aurora or DynamoDB.
• Software engineering mindset to automate reliability and reduce toil with code.
• Understanding of AI/ML concepts and ability to integrate AI into design.
• Proficient in Python, Java, Go, or C++ for building reliable systems.
• Experience designing, building and running resilient services with SLOs and on-call.
• Knowledge of cloud, virtualization, APIs and modern software design.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, CloudFormation, Jenkins).
• Hands-on experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Splunk, etc.).
• Experience delivering full-stack solutions on cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with agile/lean practices and cross-team collaboration.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to management teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain software and automation that keep our AWS database fleet reliable, observable and self‑healing.
• Write production‑grade code in Python and Java to remove manual toil, codify operational knowledge and improve mean time to recovery.
• Own SLOs, error budgets and the reliability roadmap for managed database platforms such as RDS, Aurora and DynamoDB.
• Build the monitoring, alerting and diagnostics that give engineering and support clear insight into platform health.
• Partner with product engineering and Site Reliability leaders to feed reliability and supportability requirements back into the product.
• Lead resolution of the most challenging database and infrastructure issues, then engineer.

Qualifications

• Hands‑on experience with AWS, especially managed database services such as RDS, Aurora or DynamoDB.
• A software engineering mindset applied to reliability: you solve operational problems with code rather than manual effort.
• Understanding of AI and ML concepts, with the ability to analyze AI use cases and build solutions that incorporate AI as part of the design.
• Strong software development experience in one or more general purpose programming languages: Python, Java, Go, C++.
• Experience designing, building and running resilient services, with an understanding of SLOs, error budgets and on‑call.
• Understanding of cloud, virtualization, APIs and modern software design.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation and Jenkins.
• Hands‑on experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, Kibana, Splunk, DynaTrace, etc.
• Experience building full‑stack solutions on cloud platforms.
• Understanding of agile and lean philosophies, and ability to collaborate with different roles to achieve common goals.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to management teams.
