Job summary

Tether in Buenos Aires is seeking an Automation QA Engineer to own automation for desktop and mobile apps, alongside manual testing.

You will build and maintain tests, integrate into CI/CD pipelines, investigate failures, report bugs, and collaborate with developers on testability and acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

• 4+ years in QA automation and hands-on manual testing.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and GitHub Actions.
• Experience testing desktop and mobile apps (Electron/React Native).
• Familiarity with AI QA tools is a plus.

About the job

We’re looking for an Automation QA Engineer with strong automation skills who also takes ownership of manual testing for our desktop and mobile applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain desktop and mobile test automation for critical user flows.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep them fast and reliable.
• Investigate failures, fix flaky tests, and manage test data and environments
• Report clear, reproducible bugs and verify fixes
• Work with developers and product on testability and acceptance criteria
• Perform hands-on functional, exploratory, and regression testing of new features
• Choose manual or automated coverage based on risk; maintain regression suites.

Mandatory:

• 4+ years in QA automation, plus hands-on manual and exploratory testing experience.
• Strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
• Experience running tests in CI/CD pipelines (for example, GitHub Actions).
• Hands-on experience with Playwright for desktop or web, and WebdriverIO + Appium for mobile.
• Experience testing Electron and/or React Native apps, including on real iOS and Android devices.
• Experience using AI tools in QA and critically reviewing their output. Testing AI-powered applications is a plus.
