Telnyx seeks a Software Engineer to build and operate AI-native backend systems powering our go-to-market motion. You will design multi-agent architectures and own services end-to-end from prototype through production.

These systems orchestrate LLM-powered agents handling lead qualification, email routing, enrichment, and outbound campaigns. You’ll work on Kubernetes with Docker, emphasize observability, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, robust solutions.

Formación

• 2+ years of software engineering experience building backend services in Python.
• Production experience building multi-step AI agent systems — stateful workflows where models make decisions, call tools, and operate across multiple turns.
• Strong understanding of LLM internals as they affect system design: context window management, token budgets, cost/latency tradeoffs.
• Experience testing and evaluating non-deterministic AI systems.
• Solid software architecture fundamentals: API design, state management, fault tolerance, graceful degradation.
• Production experience with containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD.
• Experience integrating with external APIs at scale — auth flows, rate limiting, retries, data normalization.
• Proficiency with SQL and data systems for targeting, enrichment, analytics.
• Observability in production — structured logging, tracing, alerting.

Responsabilidades

• Design and build multi-agent AI systems in Python that handle complex, multi-step workflows.
• Architect model-agnostic abstraction layers across LLM providers.
• Build and operate backend services (FastAPI/Flask) on Kubernetes with CI/CD.
• Design tool-use patterns for AI agents with structured function calling and error handling.
• Build integrations across external systems (CRM, enrichment APIs, outreach platforms, Slack).
• Instrument and monitor AI systems in production with observability and metrics.
• Design and run experiments (A/B tests, prompt variations) to evaluate effectiveness.
