The Automotive Foreman is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs, and timely service delivery. The role involves supervising a team of technicians, diagnosing complex vehicle issues, coordinating repairs, and maintaining high standards of customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the workflow in the service center, ensuring efficient job allocation and timely completion.
- Supervise a team of technicians, mechanics, and apprentices, providing guidance and support.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
- Conduct daily briefings to assign tasks, discuss challenges, and set productivity goals.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex vehicle issues across multiple brands.
- Provide technical assistance and mentorship to technicians.
- Inspect completed jobs for quality assurance and compliance with manufacturer standards.
- Keep up to date with the latest automotive technologies, diagnostic tools, and repair techniques.
- Communicate with service advisors regarding job progress, delays, and repair recommendations.
- Assist in explaining technical issues to customers when required.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality service and resolving complaints efficiently.
- Monitor parts availability and coordinate with the parts department for timely procurement.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs and inspections on CRM software system.
- Provide ongoing training and skill development to technicians.
- Conduct performance evaluations and recommend improvement plans for workshop staff.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automotive repair and maintenance with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong technical knowledge of multiple vehicle brands, including diagnostics and repair procedures.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and service management software.
- Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
Language Skills:
- Preferably English/Arabic speaking
Other Skills and Abilities:
- Familiar with all kinds of service equipment and tools as to their usages.
- Have a UAE driving licence.
