Job summary

Anantara Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Junior Sommelier at Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort By Anantara in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role focuses on wine service in the bar and outlet, assisting with wine deliveries, stock rotation and cellar upkeep, while providing exceptional guest experiences.

You will maintain the wine list and assist with cocktail program development, inventory management, and cost controls, ensuring beverage quality and consistency across outlets.

Qualifications

• Experience in wine service and wine tastings.
• Ability to provide wine recommendations and pairings based on guest preferences.
• Strong knowledge of wine regions, vintages, varietals and producers.

Responsibilities

• Oversee outlet bar operations and bartenders to ensure high guest experience.
• Serve wine and beverages professionally with proper service techniques.
• Support ordering and receiving of wine deliveries and inventory control.
• Maintain wine cellar organization, stock rotation and cleanliness.
• Lead wine tastings, staff training and cocktail promotions.
• Manage bar items, set and enforce quality standards for drinks.
• Operate POS (Micros) and update pricing; manage cocktail menu and recipes.
