Role Purpose

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Martial Arts Coach to deliver high-quality martial arts programs for adults, juniors, and youth members at Wellfit. The role is responsible for coaching engaging and safe classes, supporting member development, and contributing to the growth and success of the martial arts program.

The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a positive, inclusive, and motivating environment while helping members achieve their personal goals. Working closely with the wider coaching team, the Martial Arts Coach will support program delivery, member retention, community engagement, and the development of clear progression pathways for participants of all ages and abilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver martial arts classes in accordance with the coaching schedule, program standards, and Wellfit coaching expectations.
• Create a safe, engaging, and enjoyable training environment for adult, junior, and youth members.
• Assist members in setting and achieving personal development and performance goals.
• Adapt coaching methods to suit varying ages, skill levels, and learning styles.
• Support junior and youth members while positively engaging with parents and guardians when appropriate.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of martial arts programs, curriculum pathways, and member progression frameworks.
• Assist in the planning and delivery of workshops, seminars, grading preparation sessions, and competition-focused training clinics.
• Foster a strong community culture by creating an inclusive, welcoming, and supportive environment for all members.
• Build positive relationships with members to enhance retention, engagement, and overall member experience.
• Promote martial arts programs and effectively communicate their benefits to prospective members.
• Support member onboarding and help new participants integrate into the community.
• Ensure all classes, equipment, and training areas comply with health, safety, and operational standards.

Skills & Qualifications

• Recognized Martial Arts Coaching Certification(s) in one or more disciplines (e.g., BJJ, Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Muay Thai, Boxing, MMA, or related disciplines).
• Previous experience coaching both adults and youth participants in a group and/or private setting.
• Strong technical knowledge and ability to teach martial arts safely and effectively.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to motivate and inspire participants across all age groups and skill levels.
• Current First Aid and CPR certification (preferred).
• Experience supporting competitions, gradings, or athlete development pathways is advantageous.
• Passion for community building and delivering exceptional member experiences.
