YOUR ROLE
As Welding Supervisor, you will
Planning & Execution
- Review engineering drawings, isometrics, specifications, and fabrication documents.
- Develop daily and weekly welding schedules and manpower plans.
- Coordinate with Engineering and Planning teams to ensure work fronts are available.
- Verify fit-up, joint preparation, and alignment prior to welding activities.
- Ensure resources, consumables, tools, and equipment are available to meet project requirements.
Welding Supervision
- Lead and supervise welders, fitters, foremen, and support crews.
- Provide technical guidance on welding methods, procedures, and quality expectations.
- Monitor welding parameters and ensure compliance with approved WPS requirements.
- Manage welding sequences to minimize distortion and avoid rework.
- Resolve welding-related technical issues and production bottlenecks.
Quality Assurance & Inspection
- Conduct pre-weld, in-process, and post-weld visual inspections.
- Ensure compliance with project specifications, WPS, ITPs, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and NDT teams for inspections and testing activities.
- Support root cause analysis of weld defects and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure efficient management of NCRs, repairs, and welding traceability requirements.
Safety & Compliance
- Enforce welding and hot work safety procedures at all times.
- Verify hot work permits, gas tests, fire watch arrangements, and barricading.
- Ensure proper use of PPE and adherence to HSE standards.
- Promote a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Workforce & Resource Management
- Allocate work according to welder qualifications and project priorities.
- Monitor productivity, attendance, and workforce performance.
- Coach, mentor, and develop junior welding personnel.
- Manage welding consumables, equipment, and maintenance requirements.
Reporting & Coordination
- Prepare progress reports, manpower allocation reports, and productivity updates.
- Maintain weld maps, repair logs, and consumable records.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Engineering, Planning, Material Control, HSE, and Client representatives.
- Support fabrication, installation, inspection, and commissioning activities as required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Experience
- 10-12 years of welding and fabrication experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years in a Welding Supervisor, Welding Foreman, or equivalent leadership role.
- Proven experience within: Oil & Gas EPC Projects, Petrochemical Facilities, Industrial Construction, Marine & Offshore Projects, Heavy Fabrication Yards
Education and Certifications
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fabrication Technology, Welding Technology, or equivalent (preferred).
- Supervisory Certification is an advantage.
- Additional certifications such as: CSWIP 3.0 / 3.1 Visual Inspection, AWS CWI (Basic), BGAS Certification, Other relevant welding certifications.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
- Strong knowledge of welding processes: SMAW, GTAW (TIG), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, SAW
- Ability to read and interpret drawings, WPS, ITPs, isometrics, and welding documentation.
- Solid understanding of welding consumables, metallurgy, welding parameters, and fabrication practices.
- Familiarity with international codes, standards, and welding quality requirements.
