Job summary

Al Tayer Group in Dubai seeks a skilled Automotive Technician to inspect and test vehicles for road worthiness before delivery to customers. You will verify repair orders, perform road tests, and ensure proper handling of parts and tools in a safety-conscious environment.

The role requires 3–7 years of experience depending on qualification, ITI or Diploma in Automotive Engineering, and a valid driving license. Continuous learning and adherence to company health and safety standards are essential.

Qualifications

• ITI (2-year vocational course) or Diploma in Automotive Engineering is required.
• Valid driving license is required.
• Additional technical skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Check all complaints in the repair order are complete per manufacturer's standard and do not sign off if incomplete.
• Road worthiness testing on road and visual inspection on ramp; certify vehicle is fit for delivery.
• Ensure vehicles are parked in the correct place after road test and inspection.
• Upgrade knowledge by web-based courses and classroom trainings.
• Keep personal tools safe; report breakages or accidents to Team Leader/Supervisor immediately.
• Return or store unused parts properly; dispose used parts environmentally.

Job description

To check quality of repair and road worthiness of the vehicle before handing over to the customer

Responsibilities

• Ensure all complaints in the repair order are complete as per manufacturer's standard. If not, report to Technician/ Team leader about the same and do not signoff.
• Check road worthiness of the vehicle by testing on road and visual inspection on ramp and certify the vehicle is fit for delivery to the customer.
• Ensure vehicles are parked in the appropriate place after road test and inspection.
• Upgrade knowledge by regularly doing web based courses and by attending class room trainings.
• Keep all personal tools safe. Any breakages or accidents must be reported to the Team Leader / Supervisor immediately.
• Any unused parts must be returned or stored properly as per company procedure. Used parts must be disposed in an environment friendly manner.
• To work extra hours incase the job needs to be completed to ensure customer satisfaction as per Team Leaders requirement.
• Ensure removed/ replaced old parts are securely kept inside the boot without staining the interior.
• Ensure used batteries are not kept inside the vehicle.
• Adhere to health, safety and environment regulations of the company.
• Follow speed limits where ever applicable.

Qualifications

Education/Certification and Continued Education

• Industrial Technical Institute ITI ( 2 years vocational course) - Certified Auto Technician Course
• Diploma in Automotive Engineering

Years of Experience

• 3 to 4 years experience as a technician (if diploma holder) and a valid driving license.
• 5 to 7 years experience as a Technician if ITI holder
• Additional technical skills, if any, are an additional advantage.

Knowledge and Skills

• Should have completed Level-2 (JLR) or Specialized Technician level (Ford) or equivalent
