Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Valve Shop Lead to supervise maintenance, repair, testing and certification of pressure-related valves. You will manage valve shop supervisors, technicians and workshop staff, review orders, and allocate work according to approved procedures.
The role requires strong knowledge of PSV/PRV, VCV, and other valves, plus familiarity with OEM manuals and SAP/MAXIMO.
Supervise and coordinate valve shop activities, including valve troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance.
Lead and manage valve shop supervisors, technicians, and other workshop personnel.
Review work orders, technical drawings, and datasheets to determine appropriate repair and maintenance methods.
Assign work to technicians, provide technical instructions, and monitor progress in accordance with approved procedures.
Arrange inspections, testing, certification, and documentation for completed valve maintenance activities.
Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of valves, fire water systems, and related components.
Ensure proper operation and maintenance of valve shop equipment, including safety valve test benches, control valve test benches, lapping machines, and grinding machines.
Ensure all completed work meets operational requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Maintain traceability of spare parts, materials, and valve components through physical and electronic records.
Coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, Planning, and Technical teams to prioritize and execute maintenance activities.
Arrange resources, including rigging and crane support, for the removal and installation of safety valves.
Conduct daily toolbox talks and ensure compliance with HSE, PTW, e-WMS, and PPE requirements.
Ensure lifting tools, hoses, and measuring instruments are inspected, colour-coded, and calibrated as required.
Ensure proper housekeeping, safe equipment handling, and compliance with workshop safety procedures.
Perform field walkthroughs and audits to verify compliance with company standards.
Perform Permit Authority (PA) duties, as required.
Prepare activity reports and ensure all maintenance records and completion certificates are properly maintained.

3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
Minimum 8 years of experience in a modern valve shop, preferably supporting refinery or petrochemical plant operations.
Training from a reputed valve manufacturing or service company is mandatory.
Strong knowledge of valve maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and certification.
Experience supervising valve technicians and workshop maintenance activities.
Good understanding of international standards related to industrial valves and pressure relief systems.
Ability to understand and operate machine shop equipment in accordance with OEM manuals.
Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
Good computer skills, including MS Office.
Exposure to SAP or MAXIMO maintenance and materials modules is preferred.
