Job summary

Tanqeeb in the United Arab Emirates seeks an experienced Valve Shop Lead to supervise maintenance, repair, testing and certification of pressure-related valves. You will manage valve shop supervisors, technicians and workshop staff, review orders, and allocate work according to approved procedures.

The role requires strong knowledge of PSV/PRV, VCV, and other valves, plus familiarity with OEM manuals and SAP/MAXIMO.

Qualifications

• 3-year Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 8+ years in a modern valve shop, refinery or petrochemical support.
• Training from reputed valve manufacturer or service company mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of valve maintenance, testing and certification.
• Experience supervising valve technicians and workshop maintenance.
• Good understanding of international valve standards.
• Excellent English communication; MS Office skills.
• Exposure to SAP or MAXIMO preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate valve shop activities, including troubleshooting, repair, testing, and maintenance.
• Lead valve shop supervisors, technicians, and workshop personnel.
• Review work orders, technical drawings, and datasheets to determine repair methods.
• Assign work to technicians, provide technical instructions, and monitor progress.
• Arrange inspections, testing, certification, and documentation for completed valve maintenance activities.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance of valves, fire water systems, and related components.
• Ensure proper operation and maintenance of valve shop equipment and test benches.
• Maintain traceability of spare parts and records; coordinate with Maintenance, Operations, Planning, and Technical teams.
• Coordinate with resources including rigging and crane support for valve installation/removal.
• Conduct toolbox talks and ensure HSE, PTW, e-WMS, and PPE compliance.
• Ensure lifting tools, hoses, and measuring instruments are inspected and calibrated.
• Maintain proper housekeeping and safe equipment handling.
• Perform field walkthroughs and audits for company standards compliance.
• Perform Permit Authority duties as required.
• Prepare activity reports and ensure maintenance records and completion certificates.
