Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture-related field.
• Experience in heritage conservation or urban planning is advantageous.
• Knowledge of heritage legislation and local standards is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Participate in proposing systems and legislation related to the protection of urban heritage, ensuring preservation of value, authenticity, integrity, and safety.
• Fully document historical sites across Dubai in accordance with approved standards for registration in the Heritage Register.
• Analyze available information on historical sites to ensure documentation meets international and local standards and update records as needed.
• Coordinate nominations for local and international urban heritage awards and ensure compliance with requirements; supervise and track submissions to enhance Dubai Municipality’s heritage standing.
• Comply with information security policies and protect data according to the Data Classification Policy; report violations and participate in security training.
• Perform any other duties related to the position as assigned by the competent authority.

Job Description

• Participate in proposing systems and legislation related to the protection of urban heritage, ensuring the preservation of its value, authenticity, integrity, and safety. Contribute to the development of regulations and guidelines in coordination with the relevant authorities to ensure alignment with international best practices, review existing legislation, and ensure the continuous updating of systems in line with changes affecting urban heritage.
• Fully and accurately document historical sites across the Emirate of Dubai in accordance with approved standards for their registration in the Heritage Register. Analyze available information on historical sites in the Emirate of Dubai to ensure documentation in accordance with international and local standards. Review and update the documentation of historical sites based on new information or changes affecting these sites, verify the accuracy and integrity of information related to the documentation of historical sites, and ensure its compliance with applicable systems and legislation.
• Support the Municipality’s efforts in the field of urban heritage by coordinating the Municipality’s nominations for specialized local and international urban heritage awards and ensuring compliance with the required terms and requirements. Follow up on award participation requirements and work towards meeting the required criteria in coordination with the relevant organizational units. Supervise the submission of applications and continuously follow up on them to enhance the Municipality’s position in the heritage field at both the local and international levels.
• Comply with information security policies and protect data and information in accordance with the Municipality’s approved Data Classification Policy. Report any violations or security breaches through the channels designated by the Department and participate in information security-related training programmes.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned by the competent authority.
