Job summary

Dubai Municipality is seeking an Architect/Architectural Engineer to prepare and review designs for self-designed and assigned projects. You will verify that drawings, specifications, and building regulations align with the Emirate’s requirements and contribute to tendering and contract processes.

Responsibilities include site visits, coordinating with developers and project teams, and preparing technical reports.

Job Description

• Prepare and review architectural designs and architectural drawings within the relevant organizational unit for self-designed projects. Review architectural drawings and building data, verify the alignment of architectural designs, drawings, and technical specifications for assigned projects, and assess variation orders related to assigned architectural design projects.
• Review architectural drawings and building data and verify the compliance of architectural designs, drawings, and technical specifications for assigned projects with the approved building regulations in the Emirate of Dubai, taking into consideration the requirements of a modern city as well as environmental, social, and economic conditions.
• Prepare tender documents for self-designed and assigned projects, study and review tender documents submitted by project consultants, and contribute to the tendering, contracting, award, and contract signing processes. Ensure the handover of all contract documents, designs, plans, and drawings related to architectural design projects to the relevant section within the Department.
• Conduct site visits to inspect the actual conditions of project sites assigned for design, take the necessary measurements, and assess the nature and orientation of the land and the surrounding conditions to support the completion of the design process, whenever required.
• Coordinate with organizational units to study their project needs and requirements. Coordinate with developers, investors, and the project team to identify project requirements and needs, discuss preliminary concepts and technical matters, determine estimated financial costs, review material submittals provided by consultants and contractors, and ensure their compliance with contract specifications.
• Prepare technical reports related to assigned architectural design projects, including relevant observations and recommendations, as well as reports on leading practices and best practices in the field of urban design.
• Comply with information security policies and protect data and information in accordance with the Municipality’s approved Data Classification Policy. Report any violations or security breaches through the channels designated by the Department and participate in information security-related training programmes.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned by the competent authority.
