Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking an Architecturally trained professional with 3 years of experience to review drawings for compliance with Dubai regulations and urban context. You will evaluate variation orders, review consultant fees, and support tender, contract, and handover processes. Site visits and technical reporting are integral to the role.

You will prepare benchmarking on urban design practices and adhere to information security policies, collaborating with stakeholders across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in architectural design or urban design.
• Experience with tendering, contract award, and variation orders.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings and verify compliance with Dubai Emirate regulations and standards, considering urban context and environmental, social, and economic conditions.
• Evaluate variation orders and consultant design fees, coordinating with stakeholders within the Department.
• Review tender documents and contribute to tendering, contracting, award, and contract-signing processes; ensure proper handover of documents.
• Conduct site visits to verify reports and validate data from engineers and inspectors.
• Prepare technical reports and benchmarking papers on urban design practices; report observations and recommendations.
• Comply with Municipality information security policies and participate in related training.

• Review and scrutinize architectural drawings and building data, and verify the compliance of designs and project drawings submitted by the concerned consultants, as well as projects involving specialized entities in architectural design, with the applicable technical specifications, planning and building requirements, and approved building regulations in the Emirate of Dubai, taking into consideration the city’s modern urban context and its environmental, social, and economic conditions.
• Evaluate variation orders for assigned architectural design projects and incorporate the necessary amendments in accordance with the best interests of the work. Review the consultant’s design fee payments and study and evaluate variation orders for assigned architectural design projects in coordination with the concerned stakeholders within the Department.
• Review tender documents submitted by project consultants and contribute to the tendering, contracting, award, and contract-signing processes. Ensure the handover of all contract documents, designs, plans, and drawings related to architectural design projects to the concerned section within the Department.
• Conduct site visits to buildings, structures, and facilities, when required, to verify the reports submitted by engineers and inspectors and ensure the accuracy and validity of the relevant data and information.
• Prepare technical reports related to assigned architectural design projects and provide observations and recommendations thereon. In addition, prepare reports on benchmarking and reviewing leading practices in the field of urban design.
• Comply with information security and data and information protection policies in accordance with the Municipality’s approved Data Classification Policy. Report any violations or security breaches through the channels designated by the Department and participate in information security-related training programs.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities related to the nature and scope of the position, as assigned.
