Job summary

BESIX is seeking a General Maintenance & Facilities Assistant to maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized site environment in the UAE. You will support housekeeping, landscaping, waste management, pest control, and basic MEP tasks under the Supervisor’s guidance.

Ideal candidates have at least 4 years in a similar role, strong HSE awareness, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of health, safety and environmental practices (HSE) and ability to work safely in an operational environment.
• Experience in general housekeeping, cleaning, landscaping and facility support.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and complete tasks within timelines.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to clean, safe and organized work areas.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication skills and proactive reporting of defects, hazards and maintenance needs.
• Minimum of 4 years in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping across designated areas.
• Carry out road sweeping and cleaning of internal and external roads.
• Support landscaping activities: watering, trimming, pruning, weeding, irrigation monitoring.
• Assist with pest control and report signs of infestation.
• Clean conveyors, transfer stations, IBA areas and other process facilities.
• Ensure proper waste collection, segregation and disposal per site procedures.
• Conduct routine inspections and report defects and abnormal conditions.
• Assist with basic MEP maintenance as directed by Supervisor.
• Safely operate cleaning equipment, tools and machinery.
• Complete tasks per schedules and timelines.
• Maintain accurate records, checklists and activity logs.
• Follow HSE requirements and permit-to-work procedures.
• Participate in toolbox talks, training and drills.
• Assist in emergency response and site recovery when required.

What You'll Drive
