Job summary

Rapidrop in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking an experienced Technical Sales Support Engineer – Fire Protection to join our Middle East team. You will provide technical and engineering support across tender and project lifecycles, coordinating with Sales, Procurement, and our UK Quality and Technical teams.

This role combines technical design with commercial responsibilities, including tenders, estimations and compliant proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years experience in fire protection design/engineering.
• Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, gas suppression, standpipe systems, valves and pipework.
• Strong NFPA knowledge.
• Experience in tendering, estimating and material take-offs.
• Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Good commercial awareness and ability to communicate technical information clearly.
• Willingness to travel across the Middle East.
• Hydraulic calculation software and Revit/BIM experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review project specifications, tender documents and engineering drawings.
• Prepare material take-offs, quantities, estimations and technical proposals.
• Support preparation of competitive commercial quotations.
• Undertake engineering and hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems.
• Produce technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.
• Support product selection and identify value engineering opportunities.
• Prepare technical submittals, compliance statements and clarification documents.
• Respond to technical queries from customers, consultants and contractors.
• Ensure proposals comply with NFPA, EN, LPCB, UL and FM standards.
• Attend technical meetings across the Middle East as required.

Technical Sales Support Engineer – Fire Protection

Sharjah, UAE | Travel across the Middle East

Salary: to AED 15,000 per month

Rapidrop is looking for an experienced Technical Sales Support Engineer – Fire Protection to join our team in Sharjah, providing technical and engineering support throughout the tender and project lifecycle across the Middle East.

This is a varied technical and commercially focused role, working closely with Sales, Procurement and our UK Quality and Technical teams to develop accurate, compliant and commercially competitive solutions for our customers.

What you will be doing:

• Reviewing project specifications, tender documentation and engineering drawings
• Preparing material take-offs, quantities, estimations and technical proposals
• Supporting the preparation of competitive commercial quotations
• Undertaking engineering and hydraulic calculations for fire protection systems
• Producing technical drawings using AutoCAD or similar software
• Supporting product selection and identifying value engineering opportunities
• Preparing technical submittals, compliance statements and clarification documents
• Responding to technical queries from customers, consultants and contractors
• Ensuring proposals comply with relevant international standards and approvals, including NFPA, EN, LPCB, UL and FM
• Attending technical meetings with customers, consultants and contractors across the Middle East when required

What we are looking for:

• A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection Engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience within fire protection design and engineering, ideally around 10 years
• Strong knowledge of sprinkler systems, gas suppression systems, fire pumps, standpipe systems, valves, fittings and pipework
• Strong working knowledge of NFPA standards
• Experience in tendering, estimating and preparing material take-offs
• Strong AutoCAD and Microsoft Excel skills
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Good commercial awareness and the ability to communicate technical information clearly
• Hydraulic calculation software and Revit/BIM experience would be advantageous
• Willingness to travel across the Middle East as required
