Job summary

NAFFCO in Dubai is seeking a Design Engineer for Firefighting Systems with strong experience in designing and engineering fire protection solutions. You will prepare detailed designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in line with NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defense requirements.

Design Engineer – Firefighting Systems

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Design Engineer – Firefighting Systems with strong experience in the design and engineering of fire protection systems. The candidate will be responsible for preparing detailed firefighting designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in compliance with NFPA standards and UAE Civil Defense requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design fire protection systems including sprinkler, hydrant, hose reel, fire pump, and foam systems.

• Prepare hydraulic calculations, equipment selection, and technical specifications.

• Develop shop drawings, design drawings, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD/Revit.

• Review project specifications, drawings, and BOQ requirements.

• Coordinate with project, estimation, MEP, and site teams.

• Ensure designs comply with NFPA standards, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, and Civil Defense requirements.

• Attend technical meetings and coordinate with consultants and clients.

• Support material submittals, authority approvals, and technical queries.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in firefighting system design.

• Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and fire protection systems.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit/BIM knowledge is an advantage.

• UAE/GCC experience and Civil Defense approval experience will be an advantage.
