Job summary

James L Williams Middle East is seeking a highly experienced Technical Director – Electrical to lead and drive our engineering division at a strategic level, ensuring technical excellence and strong governance across projects.

In this senior leadership role you will oversee the Electrical Design Team on complex multi-disciplinary projects in the UAE, ensure compliance with international codes and UAE authority requirements, mentor engineers, and support client meetings and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
• 15+ years in MEP/building services engineering with leadership experience.
• Knowledge of international codes and UAE authority regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all engineering and technical operations across projects.
• Oversee complex, multi-discipline design and construction projects.
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and major equipment selections.
• Represent the company in client and authority meetings.

This is a senior leadership role within the Engineering Design division, responsible for leading and overseeing the Electrical Design Team across complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and direct all engineering and technical operations across projects
• Oversee complex, multi-discipline design and construction projects
• Ensure compliance with international standards and UAE local authority requirements
• Manage engineering budgets and support procurement and project execution strategies
• Review and approve technical submittals, shop drawings, and major equipment selections
• Represent the company in client and authority meetings
• Mentor and develop engineering teams while driving technical excellence
• Support business development initiatives with strong commercial awareness

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical / Building Services Engineering
• Minimum 15+ years of experience in MEP/building services engineering
• Proven leadership experience in complex engineering environments
• Strong knowledge of international codes and UAE authority regulations
• Commercially driven with strong stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken)
