Job summary

MediaSource FZC in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Engineering Lead to provide strategic and technical leadership across complex projects, ensuring design, engineering and technical requirements are delivered on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, coordinate with design, commercial, procurement and construction, manage risks, and drive value engineering to align with project objectives and regulatory UAE requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related technical discipline required.
• Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field preferred.
• Chartered status or professional accreditation preferred.
• Extensive senior‑level engineering experience in real estate development, construction, infrastructure, or major projects.
• Proven experience overseeing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams on large-scale projects.
• Strong knowledge of design management, engineering coordination, construction methodologies, authority requirements and technical standards.
• Experience managing consultants, contractors, and senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership and direction across assigned projects and developments.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects from concept and design development through construction, commissioning, and handover.
• Lead review and coordination of architectural, structural, MEP, and other disciplines for integrated delivery.
• Establish technical strategies, standards, specifications, and procedures in line with project requirements.
• Review designs, submissions, drawings, specifications and value engineering proposals for quality and constructability.
• Identify technical risks and mitigation measures for delivery issues.
• Coordinate with Projects, Design, Commercial, Procurement and Construction teams to support objectives.
• Manage and provide technical direction to consultants, designers, contractors, and specialty providers.
• Ensure designs and solutions comply with UAE regulations, authority requirements and standards.
• Oversee technical interfaces between project packages, disciplines, consultants and contractors.
• Support tendering and procurement through technical evaluations and clarifications.
• Lead technical reviews, workshops, and resolution of complex engineering matters.
• Monitor deliverables against schedules and secure timely approvals and submissions.
• Liaise with authorities and stakeholders to facilitate technical approvals.
• Provide input into value engineering while maintaining quality and objectives.
• Provide regular updates to executive management on technical matters and risks.
• Lead and develop the technical team with effective resource allocation.

Job Purpose

To provide strategic and technical leadership across projects, ensuring design, engineering, and technical requirements are effectively managed and delivered in accordance with project objectives, applicable standards, budgets, timelines, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall technical leadership and direction across assigned projects and developments.

• Oversee technical aspects of projects from concept and design development through construction, commissioning, and handover.

• Lead the review and coordination of architectural, structural, MEP, and other technical disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.

• Establish technical strategies, standards, specifications, and procedures in line with project and organizational requirements.

• Review designs, technical submissions, drawings, specifications, and value engineering proposals to ensure quality, functionality, constructability, and compliance.

• Identify technical risks, design conflicts, and potential delivery issues and ensure appropriate mitigation measures are implemented.

• Coordinate closely with Projects, Design, Commercial, Procurement, and Construction teams to ensure technical requirements support overall project objectives.

• Manage and provide technical direction to consultants, designers, contractors, and specialist service providers.

• Ensure designs and technical solutions comply with applicable UAE regulations, authority requirements, codes, standards, and contractual obligations.

• Oversee technical interfaces between different project packages, disciplines, consultants, and contractors.

• Support tendering and procurement activities through technical evaluations, scope reviews, clarifications, and recommendations.

• Lead technical reviews, workshops, coordination meetings, and resolution of complex engineering and design matters.

• Monitor technical deliverables against project schedules and ensure timely completion of required reviews, approvals, and submissions.

• Liaise with relevant authorities and stakeholders to facilitate technical approvals and resolve project-related technical matters.

• Provide technical input into value engineering initiatives while maintaining required quality, performance, and project objectives.

• Provide regular updates to executive management on key technical matters, risks, decisions, and project performance.

• Lead and develop the technical team, ensuring effective resource allocation, performance, and technical capability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline.

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field would be an advantage.

• Relevant professional accreditation or chartered status would be preferred.

• Extensive senior-level technical and engineering experience, preferably within real estate development, construction, infrastructure, or major project environments.

• Proven experience overseeing multidisciplinary design and engineering teams on large-scale and complex projects.

• Strong knowledge of design management, engineering coordination, construction methodologies, authority requirements, and technical standards.

• Demonstrated experience managing consultants, contractors, and senior-level project stakeholders.
