Job summary

Owen Daniels is seeking a UAE-based Technical Design Manager for utility-scale energy storage projects in the Middle East. The role is hybrid in Dubai and involves leading grid connection design, feasibility studies, and technical optimization to support project delivery and tenders.

You will manage design standards, work with utilities, and guide EPC/BoP reviews, taking part in design and commissioning phases across GCC markets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading electrical network design for renewable/ storage projects.
• Familiarity with 400kV to LV designs and grid code compliance.
• Ability to work with utilities and operators on connections.
• Strong analytical and design validation skills.
• Knowledge of equipment sizing, ratings, and safety considerations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of power system network design and grid connection processes.
• Drive feasibility studies and value engineering for design optimization.
• Support design of large-scale storage plants including SLDs and layouts.
• Review EPC and BoP deliverables for quality and compliance.
• Perform power system studies and dynamic stability assessments.
• Develop network designs from 400kV to LV for project needs.
• Ensure designs meet UAE and GCC grid requirements.
• Provide techno-economic analysis to support tenders and BD teams.
• Support project delivery through detailed design and commissioning.
