Job summary

Ramboll in Dubai seeks a Principal Electrical Engineer to lead end-to-end electrical system design for data center projects, owning lifecycle from power architecture to commissioning and performance validation.

You will drive cross-discipline interfaces, engage with DEWA/ADDC/FEWA, and lead design reviews of MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators and protection schemes. This role emphasizes UAE regulatory alignment and Tier-level resilience.

Qualifications

• 8 years of electrical engineering experience with at least 5 years focused on data centre or mission-critical facilities.
• Strong track record leading MV/LV electrical design: HT/MV switchgear, LV distribution, UPS systems, generators, busbar trunking.
• UAE regulatory landscape expertise and familiarity with DEWA/ADDC/FEWA processes.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary electrical and power systems technical contact for clients and lead design reviews.
• Own preparation of Electrical Basis of Design (BoD) and Design Basis Reports (DBR) and system architecture narratives.
• Lead power system studies using ETAP or equivalent: load flow, short circuit, protection coordination.
• Coordinate mechanical integration and interface with HVAC, fire protection, and structural teams.
• Lead commissioning support, reliability validation and audit participation.
• Mentor engineers and develop design standards for the region.
