Al‑Futtaim in Dubai is seeking a Technical Advisor - EV Diagnostics to support BYD Aftersales. You will help service advisors and technicians identify complex faults, improve first‑time repair performance, and raise customer confidence in electric mobility service standards.

Qualifications

• High school qualification in automotive technology or related field.
• IMI certification or similar EV/PHEV qualification preferred.
• Valid UAE driving licence mandatory.
• Minimum 5 years of overall automotive dealership workshop experience.
• At least 2 years in a Technical Advisor role, or 3 years as a Diagnostic Master Technician.
• Strong diagnostic capability in a modern automotive workshop.
• Experience with advanced diagnostics, technical reporting, warranty approvals, repair verification, and coaching.
• Experience with electric/hybrid BYD or modern high‑voltage systems is an advantage.
• Hands‑on knowledge of diagnostic tools, workshop equipment, scan tools, calibration requirements, and repair procedures.
• Good understanding of warranty processes, standards, customer reporting, and service documentation.
• Ability to identify, replicate, analyse, and resolve complex faults under time pressure.

Responsibilities

• Support service advisors during intake for advanced diagnostic cases by confirming symptoms and clarifying concerns.
• Conduct road tests and observations to understand, verify, and replicate complex vehicle issues.
• Provide hands‑on diagnostic support to technicians during repairs to ensure accurate fault identification and efficient resolutions.
• Guide diagnostic technicians through procedures, test plans, and fault tracing for electric, hybrid, and conventional systems.
• Review warranty repair cases to ensure reports and evidence meet requirements.
• Coordinate with warranty, technical support, and workshop teams to improve repair quality and process compliance.
• Ensure diagnostic tools, equipment, calibration, and software updates meet standards.
• Share technical information via coaching, demonstrations, service bulletins, and continuous improvement.
• Support Fix It First Time by reducing repeats, improving diagnostic accuracy, and strengthening verification.
• Follow HSSE, 5S, SOPs, and principal guidelines in all activities.
• Identify recurring issues and report with evidence, repair history, fault codes, and details.
• Explain technical findings clearly alongside Service Advisors to customers.
• Support workshop controllers and planners with technical input to improve repair flow and timelines.
• Promote disciplined, safe work practices and accurate documentation.
