Key Responsibilities

• Carry out scheduled periodic maintenance on BYD electric vehicles according to manufacturer service requirements.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults using approved inspection procedures and diagnostic equipment.
• Complete general repair work on vehicle systems, components, and assemblies.
• Follow electric vehicle safety procedures before inspecting, servicing, or repairing relevant systems.
• Use workshop manuals, technical bulletins, repair instructions, and job cards to complete assigned work.
• Verify reported customer concerns and conduct systematic checks to identify the underlying fault.
• Perform accurate vehicle inspections and contribute to Electronic Vehicle Check reporting.
• Record identified defects, recommended repairs, and completed work clearly on relevant documentation.
• Ensure repairs are completed correctly during the first workshop visit in line with Fix It Right expectations.
• Test repaired vehicles and systems to confirm that faults have been resolved.
• Inform Job Controllers, supervisors, or technical support teams when additional diagnosis or authorization is required.
• Provide clear progress updates on assigned repair and maintenance work.
• Meet workshop productivity, sold‑hour, efficiency, and utilization targets.
• Use tools, diagnostic devices, workshop equipment, and protective gear correctly.
• Handle vehicle components carefully to prevent avoidable damage or contamination.
• Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
• Follow health and safety requirements while working around electrical, mechanical, and high‑voltage vehicle systems.
• Apply 5S principles to keep the workshop organized, efficient, and safe.
• Maintain a clean workstation and return tools and equipment to their designated locations.
• Report damaged tools, unsafe conditions, technical concerns, or process failures promptly.
• Work cooperatively with technicians, service advisors, Job Controllers, parts teams, and workshop supervisors.
• Participate in technical training related to BYD vehicles, electric powertrains, diagnostic systems, and new technologies.
• Support the workshop in delivering dependable repairs and a positive customer experience.

Ideal Profile

• Diploma, ITI, NCVT certificate, ITC qualification, technical certification, or an equivalent automotive credential.
• 2-3 years of experience as an Automotive Technician, Diagnostic Technician, or General Repair Technician.
• Practical experience performing periodic maintenance, vehicle diagnostics, and mechanical repairs.
• Sound knowledge of automotive parts, systems, components, and workshop repair processes.
• Ability to understand technical manuals, service procedures, job cards, and diagnostic instructions.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and structured fault‑finding ability.
• Previous exposure to electric or hybrid vehicles is advantageous.
• Willingness to develop practical expertise in high‑voltage systems and electric vehicle technology.
• Good understanding of workshop safety, repair quality, and vehicle inspection requirements.
• Ability to complete work accurately while meeting productivity expectations.
• Clear English communication skills for coordinating repair progress and technical requirements.
