Learning Support Assistant / Special Educator
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher - Learning Support to join a family in Dubai. The ideal candidate will provide invaluable support to a child with Autism at Grade 8 , ensuring they receive personalized assistance within the classroom environment in addition of running programs at home . This role requires someone with a deep passion for working as teacher with special needs children, excellent interpersonal skills.
Location: Dubai, UAE – Sustainable City (Mainstream British School)
Setting: School, home and community.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support strategies.
- Preparing and adapting learning materials and resources as needed to accommodate the child's learning style and abilities.
- Provide one‑on‑one support and assistance to a child with Autism, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
- Runing one‑on‑one program in school and home.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where the child can thrive academically and socially.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, behaviors, and achievements, reporting findings to the teacher and relevant professionals as required.
- Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and positive social interactions among the child and their peers.
- Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on the child's progress and any concerns.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Education or Special Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience working with children with Autism or other special needs in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
- Patient, empathetic, and compassionate attitude towards working with children with special needs.
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and needs in the classroom environment.
- Fluency in English is required.
- Adequate knowledge of the National British Curriculum.
