Position Overview
SEN Teacher - Special Educator in Dubai, United Arab Emirates is a full-time role for a qualified and enthusiastic special education professional who can support students of determination, implement inclusive learning strategies, and help students achieve academic, social, emotional, and developmental progress. This role is suitable for candidates with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or Psychology, relevant teaching experience, and the ability to join immediately.
Role Context
The SEN Teacher - Special Educator will support the school's inclusion framework by assessing student needs, adapting curriculum delivery, implementing Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans, monitoring learning data, and working closely with senior leadership, school counselors, class teachers, parents, and learning support assistants. The successful candidate should currently be in the UAE and ready to join immediately, with preference given to candidates on own, spouse, dependent, or sponsored visa.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the objectives of the school's inclusion policy framework are reflected across all phases of the school.
- Assess students' academic, behavioral, emotional, social, and developmental skills to identify individual learning needs.
- Develop structured teaching plans and support strategies based on each student's abilities and requirements.
- Adapt curriculum content, teaching methods, learning activities, and assessments to meet individual student needs.
- Record learning data related to students of determination and monitor progress against agreed learning targets.
- Create Individual Education Plans and Behaviour Plans in collaboration with senior leadership, school counselors, class teachers, and parents.
- Implement IEPs and Behaviour Plans while regularly assessing student performance and tracking progress.
- Plan, organize, and assign differentiated activities specific to each student's abilities, learning style, and support needs.
- Discuss student progress, interventions, challenges, and improvement strategies with parents, teachers, counselors, and administrators.
- Mentor learning support assistants who work with students with special educational needs.
- Support classroom teachers with inclusive teaching practices, differentiated instruction, and student‑specific intervention strategies.
- Promote a safe, respectful, inclusive, and supportive learning environment for students with diverse needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation, progress records, intervention notes, learning evidence, and student support files.
- Follow school policies related to safeguarding, confidentiality, student wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Participate in inclusion meetings, student reviews, professional development activities, and school improvement initiatives.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education is preferred.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Psychology may also be considered.
- Relevant SEN, special education, inclusion, or student support teaching experience is required.
- Previous experience working in an inclusive school environment is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of students of determination, Individual Education Plans, Behaviour Plans, differentiated instruction, and progress monitoring.
- Ability to assess student needs and develop practical support plans.
- Good understanding of curriculum adaptation and assessment modification for individual learners.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with parents, teachers, counselors, administrators, and learning support assistants.
- Patient, empathetic, organized, and committed to student‑centered learning.
- Good documentation skills for recording learning data, intervention outcomes, and student progress.
- Professional approach with respect for confidentiality, safeguarding, and inclusion practices.
- Candidate must currently be in the UAE.
- Must be ready to join immediately.
