The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and experience with autism, with Fluency in English and knowledge of the British Curriculum. Working hours follow a Monday–Friday schedule, with school and home-based activities.

Job Title: Learning Support Assistant / Special Educator

Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant - Learning Support to join a family in Dubai. The ideal candidate will provide invaluable support to a child with Autism at Grade 8 , ensuring they receive personalized assistance within the classroom environment in addition of running programs at home under the supervision of BCBA / IBA. This role requires someone with a deep passion for working with special needs children, excellent interpersonal skills.

• Location: Dubai, UAE – Sustainable City (Mainstream British School)
• Setting: School, home and community.
• Working Hours: Monday to Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one support and assistance to a child with Autism, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met.
• Runing one-on-one program in school and home as per the BCBA plan.
• Collaborate closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavioral support strategies.
• Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where the child can thrive academically and socially.
• Assist in preparing and adapting learning materials and resources as needed to accommodate the child's learning style and abilities.
• Monitor and record the child's progress, behaviors, and achievements, reporting findings to the teacher and relevant professionals as required.
• Encourage and promote independence, confidence, and positive social interactions among the child and their peers.
• Maintain open and effective communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on the child's progress and any concerns.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or Special Education, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience working with children with Autism or other special needs in an educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with children, teachers, parents, and other professionals.
• Patient, empathetic, and compassionate attitude towards working with children with special needs.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and needs in the classroom environment.
• Fluency in English is required.
• Adequate knowledge of the National British Curriculum.
