Waagner Biro Bridge Services in Dubai is seeking an experienced Steel Structural Engineer to lead design reviews, assess structures, and supervise site execution for steel pedestrian bridges across the UAE.

You will coordinate with consultants and authorities, monitor fabrication and erection activities, and ensure adherence to international bridge standards and UAE regulations.

Competenze

Must have a Civil/Structural engineering degree with strong technical foundations.
Proven experience in steel pedestrian bridges (FOB) in the UAE.
Solid knowledge of fabrication, erection, welding, bolting and inspection.
Proficiency in relevant codes (AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, UAE regs).
Experience with structural inspections and repair methodologies.

We are seeking an experienced Steel Structural Engineer with proven expertise in the construction, rehabilitation, maintenance, and strengthening of steel pedestrian bridges (Footbridges / Foot Over Bridges) in Dubai or the UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design review, structural assessment, site execution, fabrication coordination, erection supervision, and maintenance activities related to steel pedestrian bridge structures.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the construction, maintenance, refurbishment, and rehabilitation of steel pedestrian bridges.
Review structural drawings, shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and method statements.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, fabricators, and authorities to ensure project compliance.
Monitor steel fabrication, welding, bolting, painting, galvanizing, and corrosion protection works.
Conduct structural inspections and condition assessments of existing pedestrian bridges.
Identify structural defects and recommend suitable repair, strengthening, or replacement solutions.
Supervise site erection activities, lifting operations, and installation of steel bridge components.
Ensure compliance with Dubai Municipality, RTA, project specifications, and international bridge standards.
Review material submittals, inspection requests, quality documentation, and technical reports.
Coordinate with planning, QA/QC, HSE, and construction teams to achieve project objectives.
Prepare technical reports, progress reports, and structural assessment recommendations.
Ensure all works are executed safely and in accordance with approved procedures.

Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
Minimum 5-10 years of experience in steel bridge construction, maintenance, or rehabilitation projects.
Proven experience working on Steel Pedestrian Bridges / Footbridges / Foot Over Bridges (FOB) within the UAE.
Strong knowledge of structural steel fabrication, erection, welding, bolting, and bridge maintenance techniques.
Experience in structural inspections, condition assessments, and repair methodologies.
Familiarity with international codes and standards such as AASHTO, BS, Eurocodes, and relevant UAE regulations.
Proficiency in structural analysis and engineering software such as STAAD Pro, SAP2000, Tekla Structures, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of bridge construction methodologies and temporary works requirements.
UAE driving license is preferred.
Excellent communication and coordination skills.
