Job summary

Inhabit is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer with a strong background in steel bridge design, construction, inspection, and rehabilitation projects. You will oversee structural engineering activities, ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, safety requirements, and client expectations throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires reviewing designs, coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams, and conducting site visits to resolve issues.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of experience as a Structural Engineer with steel bridge projects.
• Experience in design, construction, inspection, or rehabilitation of steel bridges.
• Knowledge of international bridge design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software and design tools.
• Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and verify designs and shop drawings for steel bridge projects.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely delivery.
• Monitor construction activities for compliance with drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
• Conduct structural assessments, inspections, and condition surveys of steel bridges.
• Evaluate structural integrity and recommend repair, strengthening, or rehabilitation solutions.
• Review fabrication and erection methodologies for steel bridge components.
• Ensure compliance with relevant design codes, local authority requirements, and project specifications.
• Provide technical support during project planning, execution, and commissioning phases.
• Prepare engineering reports, technical submissions, method statements, and project documentation.
• Attend project meetings and represent the engineering team in discussions with clients and stakeholders.
• Assist in value engineering initiatives and optimization of structural solutions.
• Support claims, variations, and technical clarifications related to structural works when required.
• Conduct site visits and coordinate with construction teams to resolve engineering issues.

About the Role

What do we need from you

• Proven experience in the design, construction, inspection, or rehabilitation of steel bridges.
• Strong knowledge of steel structures, bridge engineering principles, and structural analysis techniques.
• Familiarity with international bridge design codes and standards.
• Proficiency in structural engineering software and design tools.
• Experience in reviewing fabrication drawings and steel bridge erection procedures.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Valid UAE Driving License is mandatory.
