Job summary

Boskalis Offshore Energy in Abu Dhabi seeks a Structural Engineer to support the Global Engineering team in strength verification of vessels and design of temporary works. You will provide up-to-date engineering advice, develop methods, and oversee design and verification across projects.

Requirements include a recognized MSc/BSc in Marine/Mechanical engineering, 5 years offshore experience, and strong FEA skills (Ansys, PyAnsys). English communication and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Recognized MSc or BSc Degree in Marine and Mechanical.
• 5 years of relevant experience in engineering in the Offshore field.
• Proven expertise in FEA tools with advanced skills in Ansys and scripting/automation via Python (PyAnsys).
• Skills in FEMAP RFEM and Mathcad are also appreciated.
• Strong insight into constructability with practical shipyard and offshore considerations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare reports with design and verification calculations for all structural works within the Scope Budget and Schedule.
• Develop various concepts for design and advise on the most suitable solution for the problem.
• Verification of drawings to ensure that these match with engineering performed.
• Initiate and document good engineering practices tools and departmental standards.
• First point of contact during the construction and fabrication of the designed items.
• Managing design and verification works at subcontractor engineering firms.
• Your Typical Deliverables: Sea fastening analyses Global Hull Analyses Lifting point verification Global strength verifications of vessels Jackets and Topsides On Bottom Stability analyses Strongpoint verifications Deck load diagrams etc.
