Job summary

Duncan & Ross is seeking an Offshore Structural Engineer to support the delivery of offshore structural engineering and design for fixed platforms, topsides, jackets and modules. You will perform analyses, calculations and documentation while coordinating with multidiscipline teams under senior supervision.

Ideal candidates bring 8+ years in offshore projects, hands-on experience with SACS/SESAM/STAAD Pro, and strong knowledge of API RP 2A, AISC, ISO 19902 and DNV standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• 8+ years of offshore structural engineering experience (FEED/EPC).
• Hands-on experience with structural analysis software: SACS, SESAM, STAAD Pro.
• Strong knowledge of offshore codes and standards: API RP 2A, AISC, ISO 19902, DNV.
• Experience in Offshore Oil & Gas projects, especially fixed platforms, topsides, jackets, modules.
• Middle East/GCC offshore project experience is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design of offshore structures (topsides, jackets, modules).
• Prepare and review structural calculations, reports, and technical specifications.
• Carry out structural code checks, assessments, and integrity evaluations to project standards.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation and other disciplines for inputs and interfaces.
• Support preparation and review of MTOs, equipment data and purchase requisitions.
• Review structural drawings and deliverables produced by structural designers.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions and technical meetings.
• Ensure activities comply with project specifications, procedures and standards.
• Support resolution of technical queries during FEED, detailed engineering, fabrication and execution.

About the job OFFSHORE STRUCTURAL ENGINEER

As a Structural Engineer, you will support the delivery of offshore structural engineering and design activities for fixed platforms, top sides, jackets, modules, and associated structures. The role involves structural analysis, engineering calculations, design documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary engineering teams under the guidance of senior engineering personnel.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform structural analysis and design of offshore structures, including topsides, jackets, modules, and associated structures.
• Prepare and review structural calculations, engineering reports, design documentation, and technical specifications.
• Carry out structural code checks, assessments, and integrity evaluations in accordance with applicable project standards and specifications.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Piping, Electrical, Instrumentation, and other disciplines for load inputs, equipment data, interfaces, and design requirements.
• Support preparation and review of Material Take-Offs (MTOs), equipment data, and purchase requisitions.
• Review and check structural drawings and deliverables prepared by structural designers.
• Participate in design reviews, HAZID/HAZOP sessions, engineering workshops, constructability reviews, and technical meetings as required.
• Ensure all engineering activities are executed in accordance with project specifications, quality requirements, engineering procedures, and applicable standards.
• Support the resolution of technical queries and engineering issues during FEED, detailed engineering, fabrication, and project execution.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in Offshore Structural Engineering within FEED and/or EPC projects.
• Hands-on experience with structural analysis software such as SACS, SESAM, or STAAD Pro.
• Strong working knowledge of applicable offshore structural codes and standards, including API RP 2A, AISC, ISO 19902, and DNV.
• Experience in Offshore Oil & Gas projects, particularly fixed offshore platforms, top sides, jackets, and modules.
• Middle East / GCC offshore project experience will be an advantage.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering team and deliver assigned engineering activities within project schedules.
