Job summary

SLS Dubai Hotel and Residences in Downtown Dubai seeks a capable Stewarding Supervisor to ensure hygienic cleaning areas, proper supply control, and efficient operations across outlets. You will perform inventory, coordinate requisitions and supervise stewarding staff to maintain high standards.

The role requires 2–5 years of management experience in hospitality, strong English communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, luxury environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2–5 years of management experience in a restaurant or hotel.
• 1–2 years in a public contact position, preferably in upscale/hospitality.
• Good communication, teamwork and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensures hygienic cleaning areas and equipment with proper supplies and controls.
• Conducts monthly inventory of operating equipment to control breakage and losses.
• Initiates requisitions for cleaning materials to minimize waste.
• Schedules daily, weekly and periodic cleaning of food production outlets and equipment.
• Maintains hygiene and sanitation in all areas including staff cafeteria.
• Monitors chemical consumption in machines and wash-up areas.
• Adheres to fire, hygiene and safety policies.
• Maintains professional appearance and personal hygiene at all times.
• Evaluates stewarding staff performance based on quality.
• Coordinates maintenance and audits with engineering for equipment and machinery.

Job Description

• Ensures that working areas and equipments are hygienically clean and in order and that supplies are on hand with proper control, to ensure efficient service.
• Conducts monthly inventory of operating equipments in all outlets to ensure control of breakage & losses.
• Initiates requisition for cleaning materials and other supplies to the minimum to prevent wastage & misuse.
• Schedules Daily, weekly, & periodically cleaning of food production outlets and equipments.
• Ensures that proper hygiene & sanitation is observed in all areas including the staff cafeteria.
• Monitors the consumption of chemicals in all machines & wash-up areas.
• To have complete understanding of and adhere to the company's policy relating to fire, hygiene and safety
• To maintain a high standard of personal appearance and hygiene at all times.
• To evaluate the performance of individual Stewarding personnel base on the quality
• Ensures low breakage and proper maintenance of all equipment by facilitating appropriate trainings.
• Controls the release of equipment to banquet for outside catering.
• Overseas the proper maintenance of all dish washing machine in his areas.
• Set auditing & inspection schedules of F&B areas & coordinate to Engineering department to ensure proper maintenance of all machinery & food processing equipment.
• Communicates effectively with guest, immediate superior, business partners and staff
• Participates community project or activities in order to promoting the hotel's image and cooperation to improve community relationship
• To be good salesperson to promote hotel's image and business
• Participates in all activities related to Municipality Food Hygiene meeting, Assured Safe Catering Program, etc.
• Exercises administrative supervision over all stewarding personnel that include personnel requisition, promotion, granting of disciplinary action, training, rosters, and overtime requests.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required

• Minimum two to five years of management experience in an accredited restaurant or hotel
• One to two years in a public contact position, preferably in an upscale or lifestyle brand hotel
• Possess a gracious, friendly, and fun demeanor
• Ability to multitask, work in a fast paced environment and have a high level attention to detail
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
• Maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees and departments
• Ability to work independently and to partner with others to promote an environment of teamwork
