Job Overview

The Steward is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the Stewarding department and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across kitchen, restaurant, and food-service areas. The role involves cleaning and maintaining kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and work areas to ensure a safe, hygienic, and efficient environment for colleagues and guests.

The successful candidate will contribute to smooth hospitality operations by following established service procedures, hygiene standards, and HACCP guidelines while delivering reliable support to the culinary and restaurant teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out daily Stewarding operations in accordance with hotel service standards, policies, and procedures.
• Clean, wash, sanitize, and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, tools, and restaurant service items.
• Ensure kitchens, back-of-house areas, storage spaces, and assigned work areas remain clean and well organized.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
• Follow HACCP requirements, food safety procedures, and applicable local hygiene regulations.
• Check cleaning supplies and equipment and report shortages, damage, or maintenance requirements to the supervisor.
• Support chefs, restaurant teams, and other departments with timely cleaning and Stewarding services.
• Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene and workplace cleanliness at all times.
• Follow health, safety, sanitation, and environmental procedures while performing daily duties.
• Communicate proactively with colleagues and supervisors to support smooth hotel operations.
• Respond professionally to operational requirements and help prevent service-related complaints.
• Assist with service recovery and additional operational requirements when required.
• Demonstrate a positive service attitude and maintain a guest-focused approach.
• Work collaboratively with fellow Ambassadors to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient hospitality environment.
• Take initiative to support the team and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.

Candidate Requirements

• High school diploma is required; a college qualification in Hotel Management or a related hospitality field is preferred.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in Stewarding or a similar position within a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Experience in a 5-star hotel or luxury hospitality property is an advantage.
• Good understanding of HACCP guidelines and food safety practices.
• Knowledge of local hygiene and sanitation requirements.
• Ability to safely handle cleaning equipment, tools, and chemicals.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Positive attitude with a genuine service-oriented personality.
• Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a multicultural hospitality environment.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts, weekends, and public holidays according to operational requirements.
