Role Context

The Staff Product Designer will help define how complex quick commerce operations are translated into intuitive digital products for teams managing large-scale retail networks. Working from talabat's Global Tech Hub in Dubai, the designer will collaborate with Delivery Hero's central product organization, Berlin-based domain teams, engineers, product managers, researchers, and stakeholders operating across global markets. The design challenge extends beyond individual interfaces. With a Dmart network exceeding 500 stores and 1 million SKUs, the role will shape intelligent decision platforms that help teams manage assortment, pricing, merchandising, availability, and store performance at scale. The designer will own work across the complete product lifecycle, connecting user needs and operational data with measurable commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead product design strategy in alignment with the broader product vision, business priorities, and Quick Commerce roadmap.
  • Own end-to-end design across discovery, research, problem definition, ideation, prototyping, validation, high-fidelity design, and implementation support.
  • Translate complex operational workflows and large datasets into clear, usable B2B product experiences.
  • Design decision‑making tools supporting category management and store management across international quick commerce operations.
  • Shape experiences that improve assortment planning, pricing decisions, merchandising, inventory availability, and store execution.
  • Develop scalable web and mobile experiences suitable for users operating across different markets and business environments.

  • Apply Figma distributed version control capabilities to maintain structured collaboration across complex design workstreams.
  • Lead user research initiatives to uncover operational challenges, behavioural patterns, unmet needs, and opportunities for product improvement.
  • Plan and conduct usability testing to validate concepts before development and reduce product delivery risk.
  • Represent the user's perspective during product discussions and ensure decisions remain grounded in genuine workflow requirements.
  • Convert research findings and quantitative evidence into persuasive design narratives for product and senior stakeholders.
  • Partner closely with product managers to connect customer needs with business objectives and product strategy.
  • Collaborate with engineers throughout implementation to preserve design intent and resolve technical constraints pragmatically.
  • Coordinate with Delivery Hero domain teams and international stakeholders to develop solutions capable of global adoption.
  • Balance global design standards with legitimate regional and operational requirements.
  • Manage several design initiatives simultaneously while maintaining appropriate prioritization and delivery quality.
  • Establish reusable design patterns that reduce inconsistency and accelerate future product development.
  • Promote effective product design practices within the Quick Commerce team and across the wider organization.
  • Challenge established workflows when research and evidence demonstrate a stronger approach.
  • Mentor other designers and contribute to higher standards of design craft, product thinking, and user advocacy.
  • Measure the effectiveness of design decisions through user feedback, operational outcomes, and relevant product indicators.

Ideal Profile The position requires at least seven years of professional Product Design experience, with substantial work on complex, data‑heavy B2B products. Candidates should present a strong portfolio demonstrating both web and mobile design, structured problem-solving, user‑centred thinking, and evidence of delivering products beyond the conceptual stage. Deep proficiency in Figma is essential, including experience with its distributed version control capabilities. Candidates should be comfortable designing sophisticated interfaces where large volumes of operational information must be converted into understandable actions and decisions. Experience leading user research and major design initiatives is important. The successful designer will be able to explain design decisions through clear narratives, research findings, data, and business impact rather than relying solely on visual preference. This position also requires confidence operating across several concurrent workstreams in a fast‑moving international environment. Strong collaboration with product managers, engineers, design peers, and senior stakeholders is essential. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills are required. Previous leadership, coaching, or design mentorship experience will add significant value at Staff level.
