Overview
The position is for an experienced educator to deliver engaging Social Studies and Humanities lessons in a British curriculum setting, supporting student progress and joining the school in August 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging SST and Humanities lessons aligned with the British curriculum.
- Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, learning resources, and assessment activities.
- Teach relevant areas of history, geography, social studies, citizenship, and humanities.
- Set clear learning objectives and adapt instruction to suit different student abilities.
- Use discussion, research, projects, maps, case studies, presentations, and digital resources to support learning.
- Assess student performance through classwork, homework, projects, tests, and examinations.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, attainment, progress, and intervention requirements.
- Provide constructive feedback that helps students improve subject knowledge and academic skills.
- Identify students requiring additional support and implement appropriate learning strategies.
- Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment.
- Apply school behaviour, safeguarding, assessment, and academic integrity policies consistently.
- Prepare students for internal assessments and relevant curriculum examinations.
- Collaborate with subject leaders and teaching colleagues on curriculum planning and moderation.
- Participate in departmental meetings, professional development, and school improvement activities.
- Communicate student progress and concerns clearly to parents and school leaders.
- Support educational visits, assemblies, clubs, exhibitions, and humanities‑related school events.
- Integrate UAE culture, citizenship, and local context into appropriate areas of learning.
- Use educational technology to strengthen lesson delivery, research, assessment, and student engagement.
- Maintain professional teaching standards and complete other reasonable academic duties assigned by school leadership.
Ideal Profile / Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Humanities, Social Studies, History, Geography, or a closely related subject.
- Recognized teaching qualification is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of UAE experience in a similar teaching role.
- Previous teaching experience in a British curriculum school is mandatory.
- Strong subject knowledge across relevant SST and Humanities disciplines.
- Ability to plan differentiated lessons for students with varied learning needs.
- Experience using assessment data to monitor progress and improve teaching.
- Strong classroom management and student engagement skills.
- Clear written and verbal English communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and school leadership.
- Familiarity with safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing requirements.
- Organized approach to lesson planning, marking, reporting, and school deadlines.
- Availability to join in August 2026.
