This role focuses on delivering high‑quality English language and literature instruction across primary and secondary levels in a professional Dubai school environment.
Role Context
The English Teacher will prepare and implement comprehensive teaching plans, deliver engaging lessons, assess progress, nurture student skills, support personal development, and maintain a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging English lessons for primary and secondary students in line with school curriculum standards.
- Teach key English skills including reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, comprehension, and literary appreciation.
- Prepare comprehensive teaching plans that support curriculum goals, student progress, and classroom engagement.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to support students with varied abilities, learning styles, and academic needs.
- Encourage students to develop communication skills, creativity, critical thinking, independent learning, and confidence in English.
- Prepare lesson plans, worksheets, assignments, assessments, classroom activities, and digital learning resources.
- Assess student progress through classwork, homework, projects, oral tasks, written assignments, quizzes, tests, and formative assessment methods.
- Provide constructive feedback to students and maintain accurate records of attainment, attendance, behavior, and learning progress.
- Support students in developing writing accuracy, reading fluency, speaking confidence, and analytical thinking.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well‑managed classroom environment that encourages participation and respect.
- Nurture students' personalities, learning habits, confidence, and wider academic skills through supportive teaching.
- Communicate professionally with parents and guardians regarding student progress, learning needs, and classroom expectations.
- Collaborate with teachers, coordinators, and school leadership to support curriculum delivery and student achievement.
- Use educational technology and interactive tools to make English lessons engaging and effective.
- Participate in staff meetings, school activities, professional development, parent meetings, and curriculum planning.
- Follow school policies related to safeguarding, inclusion, assessment, behaviour management, and student wellbeing.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in English, Education, or a related subject.
- B.Ed qualification an advantage.
- Minimum 1 year of teaching experience in the UAE preferred.
- British Curriculum teaching experience preferred.
- Experience teaching English at primary, secondary, or combined school levels.
- Strong English subject knowledge with the ability to explain language and literature concepts clearly.
- Excellent classroom management, communication, lesson planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to prepare and implement structured teaching plans according to school requirements.
- Passion for student development, literacy improvement, communication skills, and holistic learning.
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, students, and school leadership.
- Professional approach to academic documentation, assessment, student support, and continuous improvement.
- Preference for candidates on sponsor or spouse visa.
