Job summary

PeopleStrong is seeking an experienced HSE Leader to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance for a major power/desalination/O&G project in the UAE. The role requires GCC exposure, strong incident investigation skills, and a track record of driving risk reduction and training programs.

You will lead regulatory liaison, safety culture initiatives, emergency planning, and site inspections to ensure adherence to international and local standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in technical field or occupational health and safety is required.
• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent certification is required.
• GCC experience is required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Ensure alignment of HSSE goals with project objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor and enforce compliance with local, national, and international HSE regulations and standards.
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities to ensure project adherence to safety and environmental requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
• Lead investigations into HSE incidents, accidents, and near misses.
• Identify root causes, recommend corrective actions, and ensure lessons learned are applied to prevent recurrence.
• Develop and implement HSE training programs for project personnel, contractors, and subcontractors.
• Promote a strong safety culture and awareness throughout the project. Establish emergency response plans and procedures for potential incidents.
• Conduct drills and simulations to test the effectiveness of emergency response measures. Conduct regular site inspections andaudits to verify compliance with safety procedures and regulations.

• ≥ 14 years in power/desalination plant, O&G construction


• GCC experience is required.


• Preferable to have PV project experience
