Job summary

Al-Futtaim in Dubai seeks a Sr. Manager Business Applications Finance to bridge Finance and Technology, aligning the Finance IT Portfolio with enterprise goals and delivering measurable outcomes through technology strategy, roadmaps, and compliant, innovative solutions.

You will partner with Finance leadership, define epics and user stories, support budgeting and planning, and drive automation and AI initiatives while ensuring integration with enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities

Overview Of The Role:

• The Technical Product Owner is responsible for bridging Finance and Technology teams to align the Finance IT Portfolio with strategic enterprise goals. The role focuses on managing the technical aspects of product and solution development to deliver controlled and measurable business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing technology strategy and roadmaps, managing demand pipelines, and ensuring compliance with enterprise standards while driving innovations in Finance through emerging technologies.
• The role requires a mix of technical acumen, strategic vision, and leadership capabilities to influence Finance transformation and technology decisions, ensuring technology investments are aligned with the strategic goals of the Finance function and the wider enterprise.

What You Will Do:

Technical Solution Envisioning and Relationship Management

• Build a strong partnership with Finance leadership, process owners, and key stakeholders to integrate into strategic Finance priorities.
• Develop and maintain the Finance technology strategy and multi-year roadmap, aligned with Finance transformation priorities and enterprise technology strategy.
• Assist and advise the Business Product Owner on key technical decisions and contribute to the House of Quality, product backlog, and epic elaboration.
• Work alongside the Business Product Owner to define, manage, and accept user stories and ensure requirements are outcome-led.
• Participate in RFx processes and evaluate the functional and technical capabilities of vendors and solutions.
• Support business cases, operating model changes, and integration into planning and budgeting cycles.
• Introduce innovations to Finance through automation, analytics, AI, and emerging technology.

Finance Transformation and Product Ownership

• Own and manage the Finance technology demand pipeline and support prioritization based on value, risk, strategic alignment, dependencies, and delivery capacity.
• Translate Finance priorities into clear product requirements, epics, capabilities, and user stories.
• Partner with Finance teams across various financial domains to identify opportunities to simplify and standardize processes.
• Challenge demand constructively to avoid fragmented point solutions and promote reuse of strategic enterprise platforms.

Technical Solution Delivery

• Contribute to solution definition and architecture development with the Principal Engineer.
• Support the Program Manager and Scrum Master/Project Manager in defining program/project plans.
• Participate in sprint planning and clear technical questions.
• Support the Product Manager with elaboration of the Product Backlog and ensure user stories meet the definition of ready.
• Work with the Principal Engineer to obtain SDAF approvals and collaborate with GTDP COE teams in support and delivery.

Technology, Architecture, Data and AI

• Maintain a strategic view of the Finance application portfolio, including lifecycle, technical debt, and rationalisation opportunities.
• Ensure solutions comply with enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, risk, integration, data, and technology standards.
• Partner with Data teams to enhance Finance data quality, governance, and accessibility.
• Identify and shape appropriate AI, GenAI, workflow, and intelligent automation use cases.

Governance, Risk and Controls

• Ensure Finance solutions support financial controls, auditability, segregation of duties, regulatory requirements, resilience, and business continuity.
• Participate in investment, architecture, portfolio, change, and service governance forums.
• Manage technology, delivery, service, and application lifecycle risks for critical Finance platforms.

Required Skills To Be Successful:

What Qualifies You For The Role:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Finance, or a related discipline. A relevant professional or postgraduate qualification in a combination of Finance and Technology is preferred.
• 10-15 years of IT experience and 8-10 years of Business Domain Experience in Finance technology, enterprise applications, or transformation roles.
• Strong experience with SCRUM or Agile environments and Design Thinking sessions, with a solid understanding of enterprise integration, data, security, architecture, and financial control principles.
• Proven track record in delivering complex cross-functional transformation initiatives while working with external consultants and system integrators.
