Role Context
The Assistant Manager - Financial Control will support the financial controlling function across Al-Futtaim 's real estate operations by improving reporting quality, strengthening governance, and ensuring finance processes operate within approved accounting policies and control frameworks. The role combines core financial control responsibilities with transformation work. In addition to reviewing balances, reconciliations, and reporting outputs, the position will identify opportunities to automate repetitive finance processes, develop management dashboards, improve data visibility, and introduce analytical or AI-supported solutions that help finance teams make faster and more informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review trial balances, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reports to confirm accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Perform detailed variance analysis and identify financial trends, exceptions, and issues requiring management attention.
- Translate financial analysis into clear and actionable insights for business and finance stakeholders.
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing activities.
- Ensure finance processes follow approved accounting policies, standard operating procedures, governance requirements, and internal controls.
- Monitor control effectiveness and identify gaps that could affect reporting integrity or financial governance.
- Support audit preparation and ensure requested information, reconciliations, and supporting documentation are available when required.
- Follow up on audit findings, control issues, and compliance actions until appropriate resolution is achieved.
- Identify finance activities that can be simplified, standardized, automated, or digitally enabled.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, management reports, and analytical tools that improve financial visibility.
- Use data analytics to detect trends, anomalies, and opportunities for operational or financial improvement.
- Explore practical applications of AI within finance reporting, analysis, forecasting, and process execution.
- Promote wider adoption of digital tools and efficient working practices across the finance function.
- Independently initiate finance improvement projects aligned with divisional and organizational objectives.
- Lead process optimization initiatives designed to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and shorten reporting cycles.
- Contribute to finance transformation programs and system enhancement projects.
- Work with Finance, IT, operations, and other stakeholders to implement process or system improvements.
- Support standardization of financial processes across relevant real estate business activities.
- Track project outcomes and demonstrate measurable improvements in efficiency, reporting quality, or control effectiveness.
- Maintain clear documentation for finance procedures, controls, systems, and transformation initiatives.
Ideal Profile
- Bachelor 's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in financial controlling, reporting, audit, or a closely related finance function.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, governance frameworks, and internal controls.
- Experience within real estate operations is advantageous.
- Proven ability to perform balance sheet reviews, reconciliations, variance analysis, and financial close activities.
- Strong Excel capability for financial analysis and reporting.
- Practical experience with Power BI or comparable business intelligence tools.
- Exposure to ERP platforms or financial management systems.
- Experience delivering finance automation, digital transformation, or AI-supported initiatives is highly valuable.
- Ability to identify weaknesses in existing processes and convert them into practical improvement projects.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-driven approach with the ability to manage initiatives with limited supervision.
