Job summary

Penspen is seeking a seasoned Offshore Structural Construction Engineer in Abu Dhabi to lead construction and installation activities for topsides, bridges, decks, and associated secondary steel.

You will review IFC drawings, develop installation methodologies, and provide constructability solutions while ensuring safety and adherence to QA/QC and offshore execution plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with at least 5+ years in offshore projects.
• Experience in offshore topsides, modules, decks, and secondary steel.
• Proven ability to lead construction & installation engineering activities.
• Experience on offshore platforms, WHTs, jackets, or interconnected facilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide construction engineering, installation engineering and field execution support for offshore topsides structural works.
• Lead construction and installation activities for offshore topsides and bridge structures.
• Review IFC drawings, structural calculations and construction documents for field applicability.
• Develop and review installation sequences, methodologies and work packs.
• Identify construction risks and implement practical mitigation measures.
• Ensure activities comply with procedures and QA/QC requirements.
• Supervise fabrication and erection of topside structural members.
• Monitor alignment, welding, bolting and dimensional control.

Qualification Required

• The candidates should have bachelor's degree of engineering in relevant discipline from an accredited university.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for providing construction engineering, installation engineering, and field execution support for offshore topsides structural works, bridges, walkways, interconnecting structures, modules, decks, pipe racks, equipment supports and associated structural modifications.
• Supports the complete construction and installation lifecycle, including fabrication, assembly, load-out, transportation, lifting, offshore installation, structural alignment, bolting/welding, bridge installation, hook-up, brownfield modifications, inspection, completion, and handover.
• Ensures that structural construction and installation activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved engineering drawings, project specifications, construction procedures, QA/QC requirements, and offshore execution plans.
• Lead construction and installation engineering activities for offshore topsides and bridge structures.
• Review approved IFC drawings, structural calculations, specifications and construction documents for field applicability.
• Develop and review construction sequences, installation methodologies and work packs.
• Provide technical solutions for constructability, access, lifting, temporary support and installation constraints.
• Review structural interfaces between topsides, bridges, jackets, WHTs, modules, piping and E&I systems.
• Identify construction risks and develop practical mitigation measures.
• Support resolution of site technical queries, RFIs, field changes and construction deviations.
• Ensure construction activities are performed in accordance with approved procedures and engineering requirements.
• Supervise and provide engineering support for fabrication and erection of topside structural members.
• Ensure correct fit-up, alignment, welding, bolting and dimensional control.
• Monitor installation of beams, columns, braces, decks, supports, platforms and secondary steel.
• Lead construction engineering activities associated with offshore bridge installation.
• Review bridge installation methodology, lifting arrangements and temporary support requirements.
• Support installation of bridge trusses, beams, decks, walkways, handrails and associated secondary steel.

Experience Required

• Minimum 15+ years of experience, with at least 5+ years significant in offshore project.
• Proven experience in structural construction, installation and offshore field execution
• Demonstrated experience in offshore topsides structures, modules, decks, pipe racks, equipment supports and associated secondary steel
• Strong practical experience in bridge fabrication, assembly, lifting, installation, alignment and structural connection works
• Experience working on offshore platforms, WHTs, jackets, topsides or interconnected offshore facilities.
• Preferred experience from PMC/EPC Background.
• Previous ADNOC Offshore Experience is advantage.
